George-Peter beniaris
Assistant Instructor
George’s martial arts journey began at the age of 14, inspired by the fluid motions and techniques showcased in renowned martial arts films. He initially trained in Krav Maga, a discipline that laid the foundation for what would grow into a deep passion. His Krav Maga training proved invaluable during his time in active-duty service, although it wasn’t until later that he truly began to appreciate the lessons he had learned.
In the summer of 2020, George reignited his martial arts path by becoming a student at Umineko Dojo. From the very beginning, he noticed something distinct about the dojo—its spirit and deep historical roots set it apart from others. Drawn in by this unique atmosphere, George trained hard and earned an Assistant Instructor role, allowing him to not only deepen his understanding of the Genbukan organization but also share his knowledge with other students.
For George, the most fulfilling aspect of his journey is twofold: witnessing the excitement and growth of members while they train at the dojo, eager to learn, and knowing that he plays a role in supporting their development. Watching them advance and grow as martial artists brings him immense joy. In guiding the next generation of martial artists, he feels proud to contribute to the dojo’s continued success and to the legacy of the Genbukan organization.

Paul Luna
Assistant Instructor
With over 15 years of experience as a special education teacher, Paul Luna has dedicated his career to empowering others through learning and personal growth. His journey in martial arts began in childhood and continued through high school and college, where he trained in disciplines such as Taekwondo and Aikido.
He discovered Genbukan while searching for a self-defense program for his daughter. Seeing her joy and growth in training inspired him to join the dojo as well. The connection between students and instructors has always resonated with him—perhaps a reflection of his passion for teaching.
